News about April from Aunt Kathy

Let me update you on April's big event. The reception is going to be at the ranch on May 3rd, although she reserved the sealing at the temple on April 26th. She is going to try to change that, but the temple has been closed for cleaning the past two weeks. I hope that she doesn't forget to do that. She starts her job with Marriott tomorrow and she still has not moved into her apartment in Honolulu, because the carpets were not cleaned. She will be commuting from Laie for a few days. She is sleeping on the couch of her student housing at BYU-H. A little unsettling..
Now for the details of the proposal. Nate proposed to her at a little fountain near the Prado restaurant in Balboa Park. A few of the patrons saw what was going on when he got on his knee to ask her and they applauded when she said "Yes!" And the restaurant gave them a free dessert! The rest of us suspected that the event was going to take place that evening at that restaurant and so we gathered outside and waited for them to come out. It was a fun family event that we were all a part of. We all walked around Balboa park enjoying the Christmas lights and took the picture that I am going to try and attach to this email. Then we went back to the parking lot and had a tailgate party with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. It was such a fun evening!!! I really think that you will like Nathan. He will make April laugh every day.

YOu know what, we should gather all these videos and songs and have one big fun fest at our reunion! I'm trying to figure out how to get there still with April's Wedding. It's just that 2 expensive plan tickets so close together are not nice on the Jack family bank, ya know? :) I'm keeping my eyes peeled for cheap tickets!

Does anyone remember the words to the Peanut Butter Song that Aunt Darice taught us at a Pacific Beach reunion eons ago? It went something like "Peanut--Peanut Butter. . . Jelly! Peanut--Peanut Butter. . . Jelly!" That's all I remember and now that it's become a staple around my house, I figure I better learn it quick!

When I read Aunt Joni's post, that was news to me that the reception is May 3rd. Last I heard is that her temple date is April 26th. Maybe they are having the reception just later I guess....I will have to call my mom on that. I told April last week to post all the details on the blog, so hopefully she will do it soon. I imagine she will be quite suprised to get on the blog and find that the majority of the posts are about her! ha ha. I am so excited for her and so excited to see all of you...I just wish she could move the date closer to the family reunion so I could go to both. I have to admit that I was a little bummed with that since I haven't been to the last 2-3 reunions and I was really looking forward to it this year. And Lake Tahoe would've been so fun! Ah, what can you do though? I guess the wedding will be a mini reunion for those of you that will be there. I sure do miss my cousins and aunts and uncles! I'm glad I got to see Carrie, Annie, and Aunt Darice last summer.

Ok this is what I know so far... the date is May 3rd...reception at the Castle T Ranch!!
Colors are Autumny. Nathan Alexander is his name. He wants to go to IVY League School for MBA. Auntie Darice says he is darling and can hold is own with our family. Meaning he didn't turn and run when he heard the "Squeals of the Aunt's" Not bad if you ask me!! Fun. Yeah April!!
Ashley squealed happily when we told her at Christmas. Rex said .."I have to meet him first. to see if he is OK!" funny Rex. Our family is getting bigger and bigger!
Leah, did you move? I have something for Boedy. I would like to get it to him before in is in college. UGH! Could you send me your address please???

Yes, I will partly confirm that rumor! April is head over heels in love and has found her eternal companion..." the circle of our love is found in every..."er,uh, guess I haven't watched Saturday's Warrior enough. Although I do remember "will you hold me?" That crazy stuffed monkey! That one was for you Annie! Anyways, I'm getting sidetracked. Back to April and her loverboy. His name is Nate and that's about all I know about him. She has been so occupied with him and school that she never returns my phonecalls! Tsk tsk! Anyways, nothing is official yet, but probably will be very very soon...so stay tuned!

Since no one is posting anything new (shame on you) I'm going to have to post a rumor and hope someone confirms it and the actual person posts the details so we can all have something interesting to read.

Thanksgiving at the Swindlehursts

Well, to those of you who were absent (which was many, I might add...what gives?) the SoCal Thanksgiving at the Swindlehursts was smash! Those present from the E.H. Tippets clan were The Swindlehursts (of course, minus that Super Sister missionary Ashley), The Sawyers (minus Kelly & fam) & the T.N. Tippets (minus Carrie & fam.) I tried to sing the Pumpkin Pie song, but since I was thinking of the wrong tune, it didn't go very far. Maybe next time. The food was great (along with the fabulous new tradition,I hope, of toasted gourmet holiday-flavored-marshmallows around their new fire pit in their new gorgeous back yard.) The post-dishes Christmas caroling was small to say the least, but the faithful trio carried on that tradition. (And no, Santy did not come to Shanty Town this year.) Here we are around the piano. Hope all your Thanksgivings were tasty & fun!
